The world is decades behind women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful and their stories deserve to be heard. Since the media hasn't caught on the beauty of ALL WOMEN we have to open our eyes and stay aware of what is going on in our society.

BIG GIRLS HAVE SEX TOO

I hope this doesn’t come as a surprise to you but plus size women do have sex. Just because we carry a few extra pounds doesn’t mean we can’t be sexually active. Big girls love sex, just a much as the next woman. What you may not know is that plus size women don’t have the same contraception options as other women. I know now your head is probably spinning trying to figure out whatever do I mean. Unfortunately yes it true. Plus size women are excluded from the Infamous morning after pill because the commonly used morning-after pills such as plan B have a weight limit of 175 pounds. This information is preposterous especially when you consider that the average woman today weighs 166 pounds. So for those women who fall 9 pounds above average the effectiveness of the pill is extremely low. This is a life-changing discovery for many women, without an effective morning-after pill the idea of emergency contraception in completely depleted for the majority of the female population. This controversial topic was brought to light and a new Hulu original show called “Shrill” starting Aidy Bryant a plus-size actress. How do we feel about this? NO FATTIES IN THE CLUB

A party ain't a party till we step in...That is if we can step in. In recent news hip hop rapper Future denied plus size Model Naomie Chaput entry into a club because “No Fatties Allowed.” On what was supposed to be a casual club night model Naomi chat put also known as Nao was out with her girls when she attempted to enter a nightclub, The Story Nightclub. she was denied entry to the venue because of her weight. The bouncer told her that rapper Future who was enjoying his night inside but not enjoy the company of a “fatty.” Nao then went to her social media to share her story with her followers. She talked about how she was astonished that rules like this could be put in place. She also talks about how she finds the discrimination placed on plus size women to be insane. Future then took to Twitter to deny all allegations by saying, “stop capping on my name, I love all women.” It was then confirmed that Future does request the “no fatties” rule anytime he is at a nightclub event. how do we feel about this? Slimness is sexy but some extra curves are sexy too. R&B and hip-hop artist Rihanna has been known for producing some amazing music. Recently she has dabbled into a few other arts. she has produced a million dollar makeup brand and has recently launched a lingerie brand as well. your makeup is very well known for being all inclusive for people of all shapes. Unfortunately, her new lingerie brand Savage X Fenty is not as inclusive. customers have been able to spot the difference between some of her lingerie items. Items that are size from small to extra large are different then items that come in Plus Sizes 1x to 3x. The items that come in the plus sizes tend to be less sexy and revealing than the items that come in smaller sizes. Concerned customers have turned to social media to voice their opinions. since Savage X Fenty is a lingerie brand it has been compared to other lingerie brands that offer plus sizes. customers main concerns are why Rihanna had to change the construction of the lingerie for bigger sizes when other companies are able to make designs that are all inclusive no matter what size the item is. Media plays such an important role in our societies growth and overall function. Even though we may not realize it the things we listen to and the media we consume plays a giant role in the actions we make and the ideals we hold on to. Since media can be such an influential output in our lives we must be mindful of the media we consume and messages it's giving out. Hip-hop is on the rise to becoming one of the most popular genres of music. This means more and more people around the world are listening to the lyrics that are put out by hip hop artists. Consequently, since media influences are unconscious, just as much as it influences our conscience. The lyrics to songs and images in music videos produced by hip hop artists are becoming more detrimental to the ideals of our society. Just like the saying you are what you eat, you are what you listen to as well. That's why I'm here to speak up and talk about some of the damage is done by hip hop media specifically in relation to women's body image. Below I will give a few examples of songs and music videos that shed both a positive and negative light on female body image.
